Paysafecard to Bank Account: Getting the Money Into Your Nigerian Account

· Updated · 2 min read

Short answer: A Paysafecard balance can't be transferred directly into a Nigerian bank account: it's a prepaid voucher, not a bank balance. To get naira into your account, sell the Paysafecard on an app that buys it, such as KWIQ, then withdraw the naira to any Nigerian bank or fintech account, including OPay, PalmPay and Kuda. The app shows the naira amount before you confirm.

Tunde had €100 on a Paysafecard from a friend in Dublin and rent due in Lagos. He searched "Paysafecard to bank account" and found pages about Europe. Here's the version that works from Nigeria.

Why there's no direct transfer

A Paysafecard is a prepaid voucher spent online with its PIN. It isn't linked to a bank, and it doesn't pay out to Nigerian accounts. So the step in between is a sale: someone buys the voucher from you and pays naira.

Route How it works Watch out for
Sell on an app (KWIQ) Add the card in the app, see the naira amount, confirm, get paid Enter the right value; sell only legitimate cards
Sell to a person They pay into your account, you give them the PIN Fake alerts and buyers who take the PIN and vanish

The second route is where most losses happen; see Paysafecard scams and fake credit alerts.

Step by step on KWIQ

  1. Check the balance on Paysafecard's site; here's how.
  2. Open KWIQ, choose to sell a gift card and pick Paysafecard.
  3. Enter the value and add the card as the app asks. The app shows the rate and the naira amount before you confirm.
  4. Get paid in naira once the card is checked.
  5. Withdraw to any Nigerian bank or fintech account.

Today's rate is on the sell Paysafecard page.

Withdrawing to OPay, PalmPay or a bank

Pick your bank or fintech from the list and enter the 10-digit account number. Fintech accounts like OPay work the same as commercial banks; crypto to OPay shows the withdrawal screen in more detail. You can also withdraw to someone else's account, though your own name keeps things simple.

Prefer dollars?

Naira from a gift card sale can be swapped to USDT in the KWIQ app, if you'd rather hold dollar value than naira; see Paysafecard to USDT.

Download the KWIQ app, or create a free account on the web.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transfer Paysafecard to my bank account?

Not directly. Paysafecard is spent online with the PIN; it doesn't pay out to Nigerian bank accounts. Selling it for naira and withdrawing is the practical route.

Can I withdraw the naira to OPay?

Yes. KWIQ pays out to any Nigerian bank or fintech account. Choose OPay in the bank list when you withdraw and enter your 10-digit account number.

How long does it take to get paid for a Paysafecard?

You're paid in naira once the card is checked in the app. After that, withdrawing to your bank is an ordinary naira transfer.
