USDT Not Showing in Your Wallet After a Transfer: 7 Reasons
· Updated · 3 min read
Short answer: Get the transaction ID (TXID) from the sending app and look it up on the network's explorer. That tells you which of the usual reasons applies: the withdrawal hasn't been sent yet, it's still confirming, it went on the wrong network, it went to a different address, it was below the minimum deposit, the wallet just isn't displaying the token, or it was never real USDT. Most have a clear fix; if it's confirmed to your KWIQ address and still not credited, contact support with the TXID.
You've sent USDT. The sending app says "completed". Your wallet says nothing at all. It's an awful feeling, especially if the money is for rent.
Before you panic, know this: most "missing" USDT isn't lost. It's usually one of seven things, and you can find out which in a few minutes.
First, get the TXID
Open the app you sent from, find the transfer in your withdrawal or activity history, and copy the TXID (transaction ID). If you're not sure where it is, see what a TXID is and where to find it.
Then paste it into the right explorer: Tronscan for TRC20, BscScan for BEP20 or Etherscan for ERC20. Our guide on checking a USDT transfer on Tronscan and BscScan shows what to read.
Now match what you see to one of these.
1. It hasn't actually been sent yet
What you see: no TXID yet, or the explorer can't find it.
Exchanges often hold withdrawals for security checks or send them in batches. "Processing" in the exchange isn't the same as "sent". Wait for the exchange to show a TXID, and check its withdrawal status page.
2. It's still confirming
What you see: the transfer is on the explorer, but marked pending.
Every network needs time to confirm transfers. TRON and BNB Smart Chain are usually quick; Ethereum can be slower when busy. Wait, then check again. Our explainer on blockchain confirmations covers why.
3. It went on the wrong network
What you see: the TXID shows up on a different explorer from the network your deposit address uses. For example, it's on BscScan, but your address was a TRON one.
This is the most common serious mistake. Stop, don't send any more, and read what to do if crypto was sent on the wrong network.
4. It went to a different address
What you see: confirmed, but the "To" address isn't quite yours.
Compare it with your deposit address, character by character. Common causes: a typo, pasting an old address, or malware that swaps addresses on your clipboard. If it's someone else's address, only they can move it.
5. It was below the minimum deposit
What you see: confirmed to your address, but it was a small amount.
Every platform sets a minimum deposit for each coin and network, and the KWIQ app shows it on the deposit screen. Deposits below it may not be credited automatically. See what happens if you send less than the minimum deposit.
6. Your wallet just isn't showing it
What you see: confirmed to your self-custody wallet's address, but the balance shows nothing.
Some wallets only show tokens you've added. Look for an option to add or manage tokens, find USDT on the right network, and switch it on. Never add a token by pasting a contract address a stranger sends you.
7. It was never real USDT
What you see: a "USDT" token arrived, but its contract isn't the official one, or no app will accept it.
That's a fake token, often used in the flash USDT scam. It has no value.
If it's confirmed to your KWIQ address
If the explorer shows the transfer confirmed, to your exact KWIQ deposit address, on the network shown with it, and your balance still hasn't updated after a while, contact KWIQ support in the app. Send the TXID, coin, amount and network. Support is available 24/7.
Once it's credited, you can sell your USDT for naira with zero conversion fees and withdraw to any Nigerian bank. Download the KWIQ app, or sign up on the web.
Frequently asked questions
How long does USDT TRC20 take to arrive?
Once broadcast, TRON transfers usually confirm within minutes. Delays are more often on the sending side, for example an exchange holding a withdrawal for checks before it sends.
The explorer says Success but my balance is zero. Why?
Check that the 'To' address and the network exactly match your deposit address. If you're using a self-custody wallet, it may simply not be displaying the token yet. If it's your KWIQ address and both match, contact KWIQ support with the TXID.
Can USDT sent on the wrong network be recovered?
Sometimes, depending on the receiving platform and the networks involved, and it can take time. Contact the receiving platform's support quickly with the TXID, and don't send more in the meantime.
What information does support need?
The TXID, the coin, the amount, the network you sent on, and the address you sent to. Screenshots of the sending app help too.
